TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI) CEO, Tito Sulistio, said that there are 16 defiant foreign companies managing natural resources in Indonesia. Those 16 foreign companies managed natural and mineral resources in Indonesia but place their shares abroad.

“This is not good,” Tito said in Jakarta on Monday, Sept. 7. Those foreign companies focuses in plantation and mining.

PT Freeport McMoran Copper, the holding company of PT Freeport Indonesia, is one of the defiant companies. Besides U.S. companies, said Tito, there are also companies from Malaysia, Singapore and Australia. However, Tito refused to mention the names of those companies.

Tito expect all stakeholders to obey government laws that insist the use of natural resources must be reserved for the people of Indonesia.
