Jokowi Attends UCLG-ASPAC Forum in Wakatobi

TEMPO.CO , Jakarta - President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo attended the United Cities and Local Governments Asia-Pacific (UCLG ASPAC) Forum held in Wangi-Wangi district, Wakatobi regency on Saturday, 5 September 2015.
During his visit to Wakatobi, President Jokowi delivered a speech on the issues of city development based on the perspective of the ‘mental revolution’ to the delegates.
In the meantime, Wakatobi Regent Hugua said that through this forum, it is expected that cities and local governments in the Asia Pacific region could exchange best practices, including in good governance, sustainable urbanization and low carbon emission.
Hugua also said that Jokowi’s presence in Wangi-Wangi would also strengthen Wakatobi’s position as a special economic zone (KEK) in maritime tourism sector.
