BI: Late August Inflation 0.3%

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A Bank Indonesia (BI) survey showed that until the last week of August, inflation will reach 0.3 percent on a monthly basis, lower than the average inflation rate in August in the last five years.
"Inflation figures is based on the fourth week survey is in the range of 0.3 per cent. If it really is 0.3 percent, our CPI (consumer price index) will be 7.08 year on year," said central bank governor Agustin Martowardojo at the Bank Indonesia Head Office, Friday, August 28.
Agus said that the August inflation on an annual basis, if compared with the previous month decrease from 7.26 percent to 7.08 percent, is a good achievement.
"We will see, the low inflation that is an important indicator," said Agus.
What needs to be monitored, according to him, is pressure from commodities such as chicken, eggs, beef, and rice.

Bank Indonesia is confident throughout 2015, inflation will reach the target of four plus or minus one percent.
