Selasa, 25 Agustus 2015 07:12 WIB
TEMPO.CO , Jakarta - A horse race was held at H.M. Hasan Gayo open field, Belang Bebangka, Central Aceh starting from August 17 to 23. The annual event involves 330 horses from Central Aceh, Bener Meriah and Gayo Lues regencies.
“Many who come to this open field are from outside of the regions, Gayo traditional horses have been widely known,” said Central Aceh Regent Nasaruddin in a press release received by Tempo on Wednesday, August 19.
According to Head of Central Aceh Youth, Tourism and Sport Agency, Amir Hamzah, the horses taken to this year’s race have better quality because they went through test by technical team.
The organizer prepares Rp252 million total money prize for winners in the traditional horse racing. The fund was collected from the government, regional budget and sponsors.
