TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Parents of sex abuse victims of the Jakarta International School, expressed their disappointment towards a court decision that declared two teaching staffs, of the school, Neil Bantleman and Ferdinant Tjiong, not guilty. “If this is the case, I’d rather let go of my sovereignty," said Putri, one of the parents on Friday, August 14, 2015.
Putri currently resides in the Netherlands as she attempted to recover her son's psychological condition after experiencing sexual abuse. Putri claimed that she was surprised to hear a completely different decision issued by the high court after the suspects were previously declared guilty by the South Jakarta District Court.
Previously on April, the South Jakarta District Court has declared both Neil and Ferdinant guilty, and charged them with 10 years of imprisonment and Rp 100 million fine.
