TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A member of the Commission IX of the House of Representatives, Siti Masrifah, said that a Working Committee for the Social Security Administrator (BPJS) has been formed last session. The committee talks about polemic on their Healthcare program and its solution.

“The working committee is guided to solve several issues in society starting from activation, health facility, and e-catalogue medicine,” Siti said during the discussion in Jakarta on Sunday, Aug. 9.

The working committee, said Siti, will directly be deployed to fields to find out in detail which issues are related to the implementation of the BPJS healthcare program. The discovery will be formulated into recommendation to be agreed in the plenary session.

Siti targets the recommendation of working committee will be completed in one session. “Hopefully it will be completed within the next one and a half months,” she said. “If not, it will be taken to the next session.”

Social Institution researcher Prakarsa Ah Maftuchan said: “We need to support it.”

Maftuchan also urges the parliament to involve community in its process. Financial Watchdog Agencies including OJK and Eradication Corruption Committee are also requested to be involved in monitoring the BPJS’s flow of fund.

Maftuchan also requested the House to explicitly reprimand the National Social Security Council due to their lack of performance.
