Trade Minister Praises Attaches over Good Performance

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The trade mission program through a buying mission was announced by the Trade Ministry via its trade attaches in foreign countries were considered to be a success. The cumulative figures for periods January-August 2015 were recorded higher than the previous year.


“The achievement in the buying mission program for periods January-August 2015 is quite spectacular, far surpassing the purchase contract obtained in 2014,” Development and Export Information Director for the Ministry of Trade Ari Satria said in Jakarta on Wednesday, Aug. 5.


A total transaction of US$64.5 million were recorded for periods January-August. Meanwhile, the same periods last year was recorded of just US$48.9 million.


For this achievement, Ari expressed his appreciation and gratitude towards Trade Attaches and the Indonesian Trade Promotion Center as representatives of Indonesia in foreign countries who has assisted the buying mission program since its first launch in 2014. The program was launched by Trade Minister Rachmat Gobel in order increase non-oil exports target by 300 percent or worth US$458.8 billion.


Hungarian company Mayers Ltd have signed a deal to purchase coconut cooking oil with PT Barco from Indonesia worth US$111,000. The contract is valid for seven months, from August 2015-February 2016. The signing of this contract is the result of hard work of Indonesia Trade Promotion Center (ITPC) Budapest in Hungary.


Previously, five Chinese and Singaporean companies purchases tons of seaweed from Indonesia. The trade contract value reached US$58 million or Rp782.71 billion. Trade attaches are expected to continue and maintain this kind of performance to reach export target.
