TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Chief of the Electoral Commission (KPU), Husni Kamil Manik, said that there is no extension for regional election registration. He then referred to KPU regulation No. 12/2015, in which KPU needs time to verify the candidates.
KPU has declared that there is no call on registration extension made upon cases of solo candidates in several regions. Husni said that government is to discuss this matter again.
Husni added that KPU leaves the call to the government, as they now focus in verifying registration files.
"We have reported seven regions with solo candidate to be postponed until 2017," said Husni. The seven regions are Blitar, Tasikmalaya, Mataram, North Central Timor, Surabaya, Pacitan, and Samarinda.
