TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - After Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama was angry at the high price of products sold at 2015 Jakarta Book and Edu Fair, the selling of products at the fair has dropped.
"Now there are not too many visitors at the fair,” said Guntoro, one of the traders, to Tempo on Saturday (1/8).
He also said that the domino effect from the decreasing number of visitors has made the incomes of traders at festival dropped by 70 percent compared to the income on the first day of the event.
"We’ve suffered from financial losses,” he added.
Therefore, he said that in order to attract more visitors to come, all traders have agreed to give discount too all products and the discounts varied from 5 to 10 percent.
As previously reported, Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama was angry after he received a report that school stationery sold at the exhibition are more expensive than those sold in the markets.
