TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Throughout the first semester of 2015, production of crude palm oil (CPO) PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk. (AALI), was down 0.9% from 852,942 tonnes in the same period last year to 845,395 tonnes.

The decline was caused by production of fresh fruit bunches (FFB) AALI that also dropped from 2.74 million tons compared to the same period last year to 2.67 million tons.

However, the monthly FFB production trend of AALI in Sumatra and Sulawesi still showed improvement.

“Monthly production of FFB in Sumatra and Sulawesi increased respectively 3.8% and 2.4%," the company management said in an official statement, Friday, July 24, 2015.

FFB production in Sumatra increased from 1.04 million tons to 1.08 million tons, while the production of FFB in Sulawesi increased from 508,655 tonnes to 520,721 tonnes.

FFB production of AALI declined quite sharply in Kalimantan, which reached 10.1% from 1.19 million tons in the same period last year to 1.07 million tons.
