TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Industry players lamented the government's lack of action in creating opportunities to open new industrial zones, in a bid to accelerate equitable national development.
S.D. Darmono, founder and CEO of PT Jababeka Tbk., said the government must communicate and collaborate with business players and think of the best ways to accelerate the development of new industrial estates.
According to Darmono, industrial estates development in outer regions requires special incentives that can attract investors. These incentives, he said, must be in the form of fiscal and non-fiscal.
Darmono hopes new industrial zones can be established soon. He pointed out how of the 14 priority industrial estate development located outside Java, the government must be able to ensure and facilitate anchor industries to start their businesses there.
