TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The government is targeting to finalize the Government Regulation (PP) No.46/2015 on Pension Insurance over the next month.


Abdul Cholik, spokesmean of the Workers Social Security Agency (BPJS Ketenagakerjaan) said a revision was decided upon President Widodo had summoned Labor Minister Hanif Dhakiri and BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Elvyn G Masassya last week to address the issue.


The rule had reaped public protests, particularly article 37 that stipulates workers can only withdraw their retirement fund after ten years and/or if they are 56 years old or older.


Minister Hanif Dhakiri said the rule is better that the previous one. "If [workers] get fired or resign, they will be exempted from the 10-year rule.
