TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Regional Office of Central Java Tax Directorate believed that there are businessmen concealing their identities for each of their business transactions. Their motives are to evade taxes. They are mostly mining entrepreneurs in Semarang.

“Usually those defiant entrepreneurs do not want to be identified when purchasing materials. If the matter occurs, it means he has the potential to evade taxes,” Head of Regional Office of Central Java I Tax Directorate Dasto Ledyanto said on Tuesday, July 7.

The directorate general of tax is preparing sanctions to tax payers who evade taxes. “The taxes that must be paid will not burden entrepreneurs if done correctly,” said Dasto.

Other motives conducted by tax evaders in Central Java is by creating fake tax payment invoices. Last May, Central Java Regional Tax Office handed over two suspected tax invoice counterfeiters.

“The tax evasion were committed during periods 2004-07 with a total state loss of Rp11.123 billion,” Dasto said.
