TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Benhil Market revitalization project in Central Jakarta will be started immediately Eid day. In the first phase, as many as 512 traders will be relocated to temporary market (TPS) a week after Eid al-Fitr.

"After Eid al-Fitr, we will relocate trader to a temporary market for three years," told Benhil Market Head, Effendi, Tuesday (6/23).

He said, the relocation place which has three floors and stall with size of 1.5x2 meters is done currently and its location is also near from Benhil market.

Actually, Effendi added, although traders in Benhil amounted to 900 people. "All traders will only have a kiosk although they have 2 or 3 kiosks in Benhil Market," he told.

During in temporary market, the traders still have to pay retribution, but they only need to pay per month and the amount depending on their goods type.

"They should pay 50 percent from their income and pay the retribution per month through Bank DKI," he uttered.

Effendi continued, the revitalization project is very urgent because the market condition which built in 1974 has never been renovated.

"This building has never been improved since 41 years ago, so it is not convenient for traders and visitors anymore," he said.
