Ministers Hold Meeting Following Jokowi's Criticism

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Following President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo's criticism over the dwelling time at Indonesian ports that took about 5.5 days, a number ministers held a meeting to shorten the dwelling time to 4.7 days.


"To follow up President Jokowi's visit yesterday, we decided to review the customs and excise directorate general and Pelindo," Coordinating Maritime Affairs Minister Indroyono Susilo said on Thursday, June 18, 2015 in Jakarta.


Earlier, Jokowi expressed disappointment over the issue and threatened to remove related ministers and officials who had not been able to shorten the dwelling time at Tanjung Priok Port to 4.7 days.


During a coordination meeting with Trade Minister Rachmat Gobel and Transportation Minister Ignasius Jonan, Indroyono said that he had prepared two steps to improve the online service and the licensing system in trade and transportation sectors.


Indroyono added that his institution will strengthen the available online system to monitor the dwelling time via www.dwellingindonesiaport.co.id that can accessed by the public.
