TEMPO.CO, Solo – President Jokowi’s eldest child Gibran Rakabuming Raka has officially married Selvi Ananda on Thursday, June 11, 2015. Gibran and Selvi have exchanged vows before the head of the Banjarsari Religious Affairs Office, Muchtarozi.
Besides the groom’s and the bride’s parents, a number of political figures were seen attending the wedding ceremony, including Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle’s (PDI-P) chair Megawati Soekarnoputri and Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Minister Susi Pudjiastuti.
An estimated 4,000 guests—including high-ranking officials and political parties’ elites—were present at the ceremony.
Gibran married Selvi after seeing her for about five years. They both met for the first time in 2009 when Selvi joined a Solo beauty pageant, in which Gibran was one of the jurors for the English competency’s test.
