RI Seeks Energy Cooperation with Oil Exporters

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Sudirman Said is holding bilateral meetings with oil exporting countries during his visit to Vienna, Austria. The meetings are aimed at exploring possible cooperation in the fields of energy and mineral resources.


Sudirman is in Vienna to attend OPEC's 6th International Seminar from June 3 to 4. The meeting is dubbed ' Petroleum: An Engine for Global Development'.


The minister's visit to Vienna will see him meeting with government officials from Iran, Iraq, Angola, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, to discuss the prospects of bilateral partnership in the oil and gas business.


"The meeting is projected to build good relationships with these countries, in a bid to facilitate cooperation in the fields of energy and mineral resources," the Energy Ministry's website read on Thursday, June 4.
