TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Chairman of West Java Indonesian Entrepreneur Association (APINDO) Deddy Widjaya said that market condition in the province is still weak ahead of the fasting month.
“Ideally, it should have entered peak season. Goods should have been sent to the stores. Now that the fasting month is two weeks again, market is still slow,” he said on Friday.
Deddy said that almost all sectors are experiencing slowdown due to decline in demands. Textile sector, for example, is experiencing the most severe decline in selling.
“Many textile companies have stopped their production. Almost all sectors have had low demands. Only food and beverage industries that still survive,” he said.
According to Deddy, manufacturing sectors have also been affected. “Demands have dropped because the economy is not really good,” he concluded.
