TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Series of Indonesian Culture Festival is drawing attention of people in the city of Best, Netherlands. The festival features a number of events including photography exhibition, folkstory reading, angklung workshop, pencak silat performance, poco-poco dancing, culinary and traditional dances.

The Minister Counselor of the Indonesian Embassy (KBRI) in Den Haag, Azis Nurwahyudi, told Antara London on Saturday that a photo exhibition was opened at Cuulturspoor, Best, by Best Mayor Anton van Aert together with KBRI Minister Ibnu Wahyutomo.

Ine Woworuntu, an Indonesian who initiated the festival, which is held by Hibiscus Foundation, lasts from April to May.

The photo exhibition itself presents the face of Jakarta as a modern city with the daily lives of its citizens. Cultures of other Indonesian cities are also presented including the picture of batik-making in Yogyakarta, traditional sugar factory in East Java, floating market in South Kalimantan, and traditional ceremonies in Maluku and Papua.

The event was opened by Yapong dance and fashion show of Indonesian traditional attires with the Netherlands children as the models.
