TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Deputy Speaker of the Jakarta Regional Representatives Council (DPRD), Triwisksana, also known as Sani, urged Jakarta Governor Basuki "Ahok" Tjahaja Purnama to review the mistake done by Retno Listyarti, principal of the SMAN 3 Jakarta (Jakarta Public High School 3) instead of immediately dismissing her.

Sani said that Ahok should first investigate the reason why Retno was not present in her school during the national exam. "I think the case should be examined first, especially on Retno’s decision to leave the school," Sani said on Monday, April 20, 2015.

Sani said that its possible that Retno left the school because of an urgent matter and that Ahok should not take action based on his emotions. "You cannot fire someone in a certain position with emotion," Sani said.

Sani asserted that Retno did not violate any law and urged Ahok to give a warning instead of firing Retno.

On other hand, a member of the Commission E of the DPRD Achmad Nawawi said that Retno’s behavior have violated the law and Ahok may fire her.
