TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – President Joko Widodo met Tuesday morning with Cambodian Premier Hun Sen for military talks. The president said the talks were centering on the military training between both countries and its follow-ups.
“With the Cambodian Prime Minister, I focused on thanking him as we have trained over 6,000 air force and military police personnel. After this training, we certainly look forward to its follow-ups,” Jokowi said after the talks in Kakatua Room at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) on Tuesday, April 21, 2015.
Jokowi said among the follow-ups were an offer to the Cambodian government to purchase weaponries or military uniforms from Indonesia, to which Premier Hun Sen said would consider.
“If the training is done here, they can buy the uniforms here, buying uniforms and weapons. Those are among the follow-ups,” Jokowi said, adding that Cambodia also called for increased trade between both nations.
