TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - After waiting for more than an hour, administrators of Agung Laksono's Functional Group (Golkar) party finally gained access to the Golkar party faction office. The administrators gained access by damaging the lock on the office's door, which was equipped with a security code. "We would like to take Ade Komaruddin and Bambang Soesatyo for a dialogue," said Fayyakun, Agung's Golkar party faction secretary.
Fayyakun said that he and his other colleagues, including Melkias Marcus Mekeng, Azhar Romply, Enny Saragih, Bowo Sidik Pangarso, and Yorrys Raweyai, was not using force when they opened the door. Fayyakun explained that they were accompanied by police officers.
Fayyakun argued that changing political party faction members is regulated in Law No. 20/2011 on Political Parties. Fayyakun further explained that the authority to change a party's faction members lies on the hands of the respective party's executive council, which according to him, is the executive council formed based on Golkar's national congress in Ancol.
Previously, Bambang Soesatyo, Aburizal Bakrie's Golkar Faction secretary called Deputy Chief of the National Police Commissioner Badrodin Haiti for help. Bambang said that the party's faction office was raided by members of Agung's Golkar. Bambang was concerned that the incident may lead to physical violence that "could became a bad precedent in the international community."
