TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Directorate General of Tax have managed to apprehend tax evaders in several regions. A man wiith the initials DJ, 60-year-old, who is an official of PT KSC was held captive in Palembang, North Sumatra.


"[DJ] is being detained in Palembang's first class penitentiary," said Wahju K. Tumakaka, Acting Director of Counseling, Services, and Public Relation of the Directorate General of Tax, in a press release on Wednesday, February 4, 2015. DJ has not paid a total of Rp 1.96 billion pf taxes.


Last Tuesday, the Directorate General have also arrested a married couple, IS (60) and OHL (57), in Surabaya because their company, PT PWD, has not paid Rp 2.99 billion of tax. The same day, the Directorate General also arrested a woman with initials KMS, 42 years-old, for not paying Rp 900 million of tax.


Wahju explained that these individuals will be detained for six months and can be extended for another six months.
