TEMPO.CO, Barcelona - Barcelona central defender Gerard Pique is reportedly ready to return to Manchester United (MU) in a whopping 20-million-euro deal in the January 2015 transfer window.
MU coach Louis van Gaal has purportedly failed in his attempts to bring former Manchester City defender Stefan Savic from Fiorentina to Old Trafford.
According to the Daily Express, the Dutchman coach then puts interest in Spain international Pique.
It is no secret that the Dutchman coach is looking to strengthen his defensive line. Pique, who made 12 League appearances for United between 2004 and 2008, is at the top of Van Gaal’s wish list.
Van Gaal expects Pique’s previous ties with United could help him secure the latter’s signature, despite Chelsea’s interest to sign the 27-year-old.
