KPK Probes Two Bosses of a Cigarette Company

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Eradication Corruption Commission (KPK) has summon two witnesses related to the investigation of the alleged corruption of Hajj period of 2012-2013.
KPK’s Head of News and Information Priharsa Nugraha said that the two witnesses summoned are Commissioner I of PT Dugapat Mas Henny Widiyanti and the Manager General Affair of PT Dugapat Mas Dita Ari Savitri.
“Both are examined as witnesses for suspect SDA (Suryadharma Ali),” Priharsa said on Thursday, Jan 15. Based on a research, PT Dugapat Mas is a company manufacturing in cigarettes, cigars and tobacco.
Previously, Deputy chief of KPK Bambang Widjojanto stated that the Hajj corruption case entangling former Minister of Religion Suryadharma Ali is considered as a priority case. Investigators will have completed the examinations at the end of this month, Bamband said.
“By the end of this month, witnesses relating to SDA will be final touched. Hopefully, the examination on SDA will soon be scheduled,” said Bambang.
KPK has established former Minister of Religion Suryadharma Ali as a suspect of the alleged corruption of Hajj period of 2012 to 2013 on May 22, 2014. He is suspected of embezzling hajj accommodations with a total budget of more than Rp1 trillion.
