Jakarta City Council Applauds Djarot

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Lucky Sastrawiria, chairman of the Democrat Party-National Mandate Party Faction at the Jakarta Legislative Council supported Djarot Saiful Hidayat’s inauguration as the Jakarta Deputy Governor. According to Lucky, Djarot has experiences and capabilities in city planning.


“His experiences in bureaucracy will be useful,” Lucky said on Wednesday, December 17, 2014.


Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama officially inaugurated Djarot on Wednesday, December 17, 2014, at City Hall, witnessed by 350 guests.


Lucky explained that Djarot’s experience as Blitar mayor is an advantage to address problems in Jakarta. Lucky viewed Djarot as a person who understand government administration and the people.


City Council deputy speaker Muhammad Taufik from the Great Indonesia Movement Party hopes Djarot would be able to map the problems in the city within three years. Taufik said there are many priority programs to be executed.


Taufik praised Djarot’s method to bridge the communication between the legislative council and the Jakarta administration. Taufik said that Djarot understands the importance of communication between the two partnering institutions.
