Holcim Targets New Plant to Operate in 2015

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Holcim Indonesia (SMCB) expects its new plant in Tuban, East Java, to be operational starting in the first semester of 2015. SMCB Spokesperson Deni Nuryandain, said that the plant will increase the company's production capacity by 40 percent or 3.4 million tons. "Therefore, our total production capacity would reach 12.5 million tons each year," he said on Wednesday December 10, 2014.
Deni added that currently, Holcim has started operating its new plants in Narogong, West Java, and Cilacap, Central Java. In addition to the two plants, the company also owned a cement milling plant in Ciwandan, Banten, with a total joint production capacity of 11 million tons of cement each year.
With an annual production capacity of 12.5 tons, said Deni, Holcim ranks in the top three of Indonesia’s largest cement producer with an annual market share of 14 to 16 percent. The company also plans to strengthen their cement retail sales division, which contributes to 80 percent of Holcim's total sales.
Holcim is one of Indonesia's top three giants in the cement industry alongside PT Semen Indonesia (SMGR) and PT Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa (INTP).
