TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Tahir Foundation, a charity organization founded by Mayapada Group’s boss Dato Sri Tahir, donated five double-decker buses to the Jakarta Administration. Tahir handed over the donation to Governor Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama at the National Monument (Monas) on Wednesday, December 10, 2014.

Tahir said the donation was a form of his contribution for Jakarta people. Tahir mentioned that each bus could carry 80 passengers.

Tahir claimed that there were five other business owners who would donate similar buses.

“So, there will be 15 double-decker buses in total,” he said.

Ahok said that he appreciated Tahir Foundation for helping the Jakarta Administration. Ahok added that he was well-informed with Tahir’s generosity.

“Donating is a hobby for Mr Tahir,” Ahok said.

Ahok added with the five additional buses from Tahir, the Jakarta administration is now operating 10 units of double-decker buses. Ahok revealed that the Jakarta administration is planning to procure 70 double-decker buses next year.
