TEMPO.CO, Maiduguri - Two female suicide bombers killed at least 30 people in Maiduguri, Nigeria. No group has claimed responsible for the attack but suspicion is likely to fall on Boko Haram, local officials say.
"While the people were trying to help the injured, the second bomb exploded," witness Sani Adamu told Reuters on Wednesday, November 26, 2014.
The first suicide bomber killed three women in the surrounding, while the second suicide bomber killed 30 people. Abba Aji Kalli, Borno's state coordinator from the Joint Task Force, explained that the suicide bombers attacks were similar to the chain of attacks done by Boko Haram in the past year.
Human Right Watch urges Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan to protect his citizens from criminal and violent acts and to put an end to the human rights violation done by Boko Haram.
Throughout this year, at least 2,053 civilians were killed by Boko Haram attacks. Ninety five attacks occured in 70 Nigerian cities since early 2014.
