Jokowi Promises Easy Licensing in APEC CEO Summit

TEMPO.CO, Beijing - President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo, during his presentation in the APEC CEO Summit 2014 in Beijing on Monday, November 10, 2014, promised to solve the problems of land acquisition and licensing faced by foreign investors in Indonesia.


According to Jokowi, many investors have complained about difficult land acquisition in many locations in Indonesia. He promised that he would instruct his ministers and officials from related agencies to assist in land acquisition and explained about his approach in solving land acquisition problem.


"If there are problems, I usually invite the residents to eat and talk. After that, the problem is solved," said Jokowi.


He further promised he would help investors in obtaining business permits by establishing a one stop service system that will shorten licensing process.


"One stop service for licensing will help and facilitate in obtaining business license. For example, processing business permit now only takes three days," Jokowi said.


This morning, in the APEC CEO Summit 2014, Jokowi delivered his presentation and invited investors to invest in the maritime transportation, train infrastructure and energy sectors.
