BPS Releases Data on Unemployment in Indonesia

TEMPO.CO , Jakarta - The number of Indonesian labor force as of August 2014 was recoded to reach 182.99 million people, 7.24 million of which are unemployed. Head of the National Statistics Agency (BPS) Suryamin, said that the unemployed group mostly originated from vocational school graduates, foloowed by diploma, and university graduates.
The number of unemployed vocational school graduates constitutes 11.24 percent from the total number of unemployment. On the other hand, the number of unemployed high school graduates consitutes 9.55 percent of the total number.
"This is quite an information for the government, for us to look at the link and match," said Suryamin.
The list from BPS also contains data on unemployed diplomas (6.14 percent), university graduates (5.65 percent), elementary school graduates (3.04 percent), and unemployed junior-high school graduates (7.15 percent).
