TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Retno Listyanti, the secretary general of the Federation of Indonesian Teachers Alliance, said that her organization was involved in a discussion related to Jakarta Smart Card (KJP) for 2015. In the discussion, she proposed to improve the procedures of KJP fund distribution.
“We’re proposing to improve the system because the KJP fund has missed the target,” Retno told Tempo on Saturday October 2014, adding that about 20 percent of the KJP fund missed the target.
According to Retno, the KJP fund distribution should involve teachers since form teachers and schools are those who decide which students have the right to receive KJP. The student names then are to be verified by a teacher council.
“If we are not sure, we will conduct home visits,” she said.
Retno said the current KJP distribution system is questionable since student names to receive KJP have already been registered at the Education Agency without teachers’ knowledge. Retno said students are only required to have a relief letter (SKTM) to receive KJP.
