TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg on Monday, October 13, 2014, met with president-elect Jokowi 'Jokowi" Widodo at the Jakarta City Hall and praised Jokowi's hard work that has made him famous worldwide.
"One of the reasons why I came here is because what you are doing under your leadership is remarkable and can increase the number of Internet and Facebook users," said Zuckerberg.
"It's an honor for me to become witness and see for myself what is currently happening in Indonesia," he added.
Zuckerberg was grateful for the opportunity to met and have a dialogue with Jokowi. He said Indonesia has 70 million Facebook users, which are the world's second largest.
"I am happy to be able to increase the number of Internet and Facebook users to enhance relations, dialogue and build businesses," he said.
Zuckerberg arrived at the City Hall at around 09:00 am Western Indonesia Time. Abdee, guitarist of an Indonesian band 'Slank' was also present to accompany Jokowi. The meeting was held to discuss development of Facebook usage in Indonesia, especially in developing micro businesses, including Internet tax.
