TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Officials from the Jakarta administration met with officials from the Foreign Ministry’s directorate general of ASEAN cooperation at City Hall in Central Jakarta on Monday to prepare for the 2015 ASEAN Economic Community (AEC).
Jakarta Deputy Governor Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama said director general I Gusti Agung Wesaka Puja had discussed with him and several top-level officials how to prepare for the AEC.
“We had a discussion so that Jakarta officials could understand more about how the AEC will affect us,” Ahok told reporters, asquoted by Antara News.
He said the directorate general would meet with other top officials in the Jakarta administration.
“The AEC will make some significant changes. That’s why we need to be prepared. All officials in the administration must understand the effects and changes that the community will bring,” Ahok said.
