TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A British percussion band, Stomp, is greeting Jakarta with their unique and unusual music instruments. The band is holding concert at Jakarta Theater until October 6.

“I am happy to perform here, in Jakarta,” said Phil Batchelor, Stomp’s member and director during the press conference on October 2.

Stomp was initiated by Luke Cresswell and Steve McNciholas in Brighton, England in 1991. Instead of using only the regular percussion instruments, the group use brooms, garbage cans, buckets and many more things to create stunning music or rhythms.

But that is not all, the group also collaborate the rhythm with attractive and funny gestures to create a physical theatre performance that is always catching the audiences’ eyes. Millions have watched them perform and now people in Indonesia are having their chance too.

Stomp members continue to grow for generations since it was formed and they have performed around globe. They had stomped their percussion in London Olympic 2012, Sundance Festival, and Cannes Film Festival.
