TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Local apps developer Creative HoHouse launches LegaTalk, a social platform application that lets people confide their feelings as anonymous. The developer promises to keep users' identity a secret.
"We want to provide a place for modern society whose problems are getting more complex," said Head of Communication of Creative HotHouse, Asmara Wreksono, Thursday.
The existing social media are not sufficient to let people post their personal thoughts or feelings since the identity of an account owner is mostly visible, said Asmara. Each personal thought is potential to garner negative comments and even bullying.
Owing to the above condition, LegaTalk is designed to make its users feel 'lega' (Indonesian word for 'relieved') after posting about how they feel about something. This is supported by the increasing use of mobile devices in Indonesia.
To sign up, a user is first asked to enter a phone number. Asmara assured that the secrecy of this data is guaranteed by the system. Like typical social application, LegaTalk appears with time line. It is also quite simple with only allowing sentences format for posting. Each posting will appear with location and users can comment, 'love', or report to administrator when there is offensive posting.
"We will also delete ad postings," said Asmara.
The app was made in May 2014 after six-month of research on confiding habits of the Indonesian society. Since July, LegaTalk has been available in full format on iOS. In three months, its users has reached 40,000.
How important is letting out feeling for a person's psychology? Roslina Verauli, a child and teenager Psychologist said that letting out feelings is a proof of a healthy mentality.
"Since human is a social creature, each emotion and feeling must be shown," said Roslina.
