TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) announced that Indonesia's exports value in July 2014 has declined on an annual basis. "Compared to July 2013, exports fell by 6.03 per cent," BPS chief Suryamin said on Monday, September 1.
According to Suryamin, Indonesia's export value in July 2014 reached US$14.18 billion, which is a 7.99-percent decline from the month before.
"July's decline stemmed from non-oil exports," he said.
Non-oil exports value in July, said Suryamin, only amounted to US$11.631 billion, or down 7.86 percent from the previous month's US$12.623 million. "If we compare it to July 2013, non-oil exports fell by 9.17 percent," he said.
In addition to announcing the value of non-oil exports, the BPS also released the economic data for August 2014 including export-import performances, farmers' exchange rate, wholesale price index, the number of tourist arrivals, as well as inflation.
