TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The National Commission on Human Rights (Komnas HAM) said the cabinet of president-elect Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo must take concrete actions to resolve human rights violation cases, during a meeting with Jokowi Transition Team chief and deputy chief Rini Soemarno and Andi Widjajanto.
"[It is] Either judicial or non-judicial," said Komnas HAM commissioner Siti Noor Laila yesterday.
Noor Laila said there were still seven unsolved human rights violation cases which consist of the 1965 case, mysterious shooting, Talangasri, Trisakti-Semanggi I and II tragedies, activist kidnapping and forced disappearance in 1997 and 1998, and Wasior.
"There will be deeper discussion about these actions," Noor Laila added.
In the meeting, Komnas HAM also conveyed the efforts that have been done to solve the cases such as recommendations from special committee form by the House of Representatives (DPR) and investigation process in the Attorney General.
They hope Jokowi could provide political space so that human rights court can be executed in his government.
