TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer has resigned from the board of directors. Ballmer, who is officially replaced by Satya Nadella since last February, said he wanted to focus on handling NBA’s Los Angeles Clippers, which he recently bought for US$2 billion.
"I bleed Microsoft — have for 34 years and I always will. Count on me to keep ideas and inputs flowing. The company will move to higher heights. I will be proud, and I will benefit through my share ownership," Ballmer wrote in a letter to his successor Nadella, as quoted from Forbes yesterday.
Nadella respected Ballmer’s decision, thanking him in a statement for his contributions to the huge company.
Ballmer’s decision to leave Microsoft has been heard since early last year. Ballmer had yet to have the intention to take over Microsoft’s share.
