TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The government has disbursed a budget of Rp14.4 trillion to the Bengkulu provincial government.

Bengkulu Governor Junaidi Hamsyah said that the disbursement of the budget is stated in the Presidential Regulation Number 48 of 2014 on the Master Plan for Acceleration and Expansion of Indonesian Economic Development (MP3EI).

With the disbursement of the budget, Junaidi said the dreams of Bengkulu residents to have a toll road connecting Bengkulu province and South Sumatra province will be immediately realized.

"The funds will also be allocated for 14 other major projects, including development of the seaport, roads and universities," said Junaidi Hamsyah, on Saturday August 9, 2014.

Jumaidi further said that the construction of the toll road connecting Bengkulu with South Sumatra is one of the strategic programs of the Bengkulu government.

He went on to say that toll road plays a vital role for residents of the two provinces in a bid to accelerate flow of goods and services to Pulau Baai seaport in Bengkulu.
