TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Functional Group (Golkar) Party deputy chairman Agung Laksono, said that he wanted Golkar to be included in the government led by Joko Widodo and Jusuf Kalla, and evaluate its position in the Merah Putih Coalition that stands as the opposition power.

"Opposition will always reject every decision taken by the government," said Agung on Wednesday, July 23, 2014.

He said that Golkar is more comfortable with being in the government but can still be critical towards the government's policies.

According to Agung, Golkar should support the government in implementing all development plans for the public welfare.

"I appreciate what has been decided by the central board. This is just my personal thought," said Agung.

Golkar Party chairman Aburizal Bakrie was one of the party leaders that signed the permanent coalition with the Great Indonesia Movement Party, which is led by Prabowo Subianto. The coalition has assumed the role of the opposition power against the government.
