TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Kusumaningtuti Setyono, member of the Financial Services Authority's (OJK) education and consumer service board, said that as of the second week of July the OJK has received 17,000 complaints. Eighty percent of these complaints, she said, take the form of questions while the remainders are consumer complaints.

"Of these complaints, 40 percent are related to banking services," she said during a book launch on the OJK and the financial industry in a Jakarta high school, yesterday.

This is different from last year when most complaints come from non-bank financial industries. The number of complaints on banking services this year has also increased from last year.

"It is also because the banking sector is now under OJK's supervision,"she said.

The majority of complaints filed to the OJK are about payment systems such as the use of ATM and debit cards.
