Deadly Bomb In Nigerian Market Kills 18 People

TEMPO.CO , Maiduguri - At least 18 people have been killed in an explosion at a market in Maiduguri, north-eastern Nigeria, Monday, June 30, 2014, a medical worker told the BBC .
Witnesses said that the explosives were reportedly hidden in a vehicle carrying charcoal. The vehicle exploded into a huge fireball and injured 55 people.
"A van loaded with charcoal and IED [improvised explosive device] exploded at Monday Market in Maiduguri this morning. The location has been cordoned," the defence headquarters said on it’s Twitter account, as reported in the BBC News on Monday.
Officials in Maiduguri suspected that the bombing is linked to Boko Haram. Cars and taxis, which were unloading passengers and goods in the area were wrecked.
