Youth and Sports Ministry Sends Second Legal Notice to Ahok

Acting Jakarta Governor Basuki "Ahok" Tjahaja Purnama.

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Youth and Sports Ministry has sent the second legal notice to acting governor of Jakarta Basuki "Ahok" Tjahaja Purnama and chief of the Jakarta Youth and Sports Agency Ratiyono.


The ministry's spokesman, Gatot S. Dewa Broto, said the the second legal notice was sent as Ahok failed to respond to the first one.


Gatot said Ahok replied the first one to shed light on the issue, but he did not meet the ministry's request for a public apology. He added the second legal notice was sent to ask Ahok to convey his apologies on the issue within 2x24 hours.


Earlier, Ahok accused the ministry of impeding the construction of the capital's much-anticipated mass rapid transit (MRT) project as it had yet to issue the permit to dismantle the Lebak Bulus Stadium. The city administration plans to build a depot and an MRT station at the stadium site.
