TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Elections Monitoring Agency (Bawaslu) will summon Chief of the Indonesian Military (TNI) General Moeldoko, tomorrow.

According to Bawaslu member, Nelson Simanjuntak, the move was aimed at preventing more reports filed to TNI about its members who were allegedly not neutral for the upcoming presidential election.

"We are going to coordinate with TNI Chief about TNI neutrality," said Nelson at his office, Friday.

The summon letter was sent last week.

Previously, Bawaslu Chairman, Muhammad, said that the summon was to clarify the reports of the alleged village supervisory non-commissioned officers (Babinsa) in Gambir, Central Jakarta, who reportedly intimidated a person in Central Jakarta to have them vote for the Gerindra Party’s presidential candidate, Prabowo Subianto, the former commander of the Army’s Special Forces (Kopassus).

Babinsa was also reportedly to have visited houses in Central Jakarta and claimed to collect data and improve the list of voters.

According to Muhammad, the summon was also the follow-up of Bawaslu’s investigation regarding the Babinsa case.

However, he declined to mention the result of the temporary investigation of the case.

"Sorry, we cannot reveal the results yet," he said.

In the meantime, TNI Spokesman, Mayor General Fuad Basya, said TNI had not received any letter from Bawaslu for the TNI Chief.

Tomorrow, President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono urge TNI and its members to remain on neutral ground during the Presidential election.
