TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Youth and Sports Minister, Roy Suryo, has responded to Jakarta acting governor, Basuki 'Ahok' Tjahaja Purnama, who said his Ministry had hampered the development of Mass Rapid Transit (MRT). He viewed that Ahok’s statement was baseless.

Ahok accused the ministry of hampering the MRT project for not immediately issuing the permit to demolish Lebak Bulus stadium which was scheduled to become MRT depot and station. The Jakarta government was planning on exchanging the land with BMW Park.

"The problem is we haven't received the certificate (BMW Park). We are willing to exchange, but we don’t want it to be problematic," Roy said at Manahan Solo Stadium, Friday.

He urged Ahok to be introspective and to correct his statement since, in reality, he has never seen the park's certificate. "It is still in the process and hasn’t been finalized. Please don’t lay the first stone yet," said Roy, while firmly saying that the demolition requires a permit from his Ministry.

Therefore, Roy requested that the replacement land of Lebak Bulus stadium, which is BMW Park would not be problematic. Roy planned on meeting Ahok next week to explaindiscuss about the matter.
