TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Chairman of the Indonesian Business Owners' Association (Apindo), Sofjan Wanandi, said Jakarta Governor, Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo, was not favoring big business owners as he is more focused on small and medium enterprises.

"His policies tend to favor small business owners," Sofjan told Tempo yesterday. But Sofjan praised Jokowi’s move because neglecting small business units may prompt inflation in Jakarta, as the number is larger than that of big business units. In addition, small business can reach the public.

Sofjan stated big business owners can survive without the help of the government. Most of them have been in their business for a long time.

"Big business owners can take care of themselves, while small business owners still need guidance," Sofjan added.
