TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Deputy Governor Basuki "Ahok" Tjahaja Purnama says that the Jakarta Provincial Government plans to apply motorbike-free zones on a number of streets in the capital, with the administration providing free double-decker buses, as cited in Antara News.
Ahok stated that the motorbike-free zones would be located on Jl. Rasuna Said (Menteng square-Matraman intersection), Jl. Gatot Subroto (Balai Kartini-Slipi), Jl. Jenderal Sudirman (Hotel Indonesia traffic circle-Blok M) and the National Monument (Monas)-Old Town through to Jl.Gajah Mada and Jl. Hayam Wuruk.
Ahok eplained that the Provincial Government would also provide a number of parking lots within motorbike-free zones. He said these parking lots were meant as a way to encourage people to take the free buses instead of taking their own vehicles.
