TEMPO.CO, Islamabad - Pakistan's top court on Tuesday has ordered installation of closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras in all courts in the capital Islamabad a day after gun and bomb attack on a local court.
As quoted by Xinhua, The Supreme Court directed to install CCTV cameras within 48 hours in Islamabad. The old security system has been broken.
Chief Justice Tasadduq Hussain Jilani also ordered action against police officers who failed to quickly respond to the attack which killed 11 people. There are supposed to be 66 officers on duty, but at the time there were only 47 officers deployed to secure the court.
The explosion killed 11 people and injured 30 others. A gunfire was also heard from the direction of the courthouse. Militant group Ahrar-ul-Hind admitted to being behind the attacks.
