TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Home Affairs Ministry has approved on Monday the US$6 billion Jakarta Regional Budget (APBD) with several notes that potentially would cause a delay in its disbursement.

"The Home Affairs Ministry gave its approval and it has been returned to Jakarta administration yesterday (Monday)," Home Affairs Ministry's Information Center Head, Didik Suprayitno, told Tempo yesterday.

He said that the ministry had put several notes about a few adjustments for Jakarta Governor Joko "Jokowi" Widodo in a 55-page document. The notes were related to several work plans that contravene the regulations, such as overlapping Jakarta works that were supposed to be handled by the central government.

Didik refused to provide details about the notes. But he asserted that the Jakarta Provincial Government has to address the issues. Didik said that the ministry has a right to annul the budget if Jokowi has not made any adjustments.

The Jakarta Finance Management Agency Head, Endang Widjajanti, mentioned three budget items that were evaluated by the Home Affairs Ministry to be adjusted by the Jakarta Provincial Government: the budget for Hajj pilgrim, the budget for capital equity financing and the budget for the general election commission.
